Geotechnical Engineer - Remote Opportunity in Mining

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer remote to join our dynamic team at Yulong Gold. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mining operations in Western Australia while enjoying the flexibility of remote work. You will report to the Senior Geotechnical Engineer and assist with the day-to-day tasks of our mining operations.

What You'll Do

• Ensure compliance with geotechnical considerations as per Mines Regulations.
• Monitor and manage all geotechnical hazards in underground operations and provide technical support to open pit operations when required.
• Conduct regular underground inspections and audits to ensure adherence to ground support standards.
• Collect continuous underground data, including structural mapping, stress damage mapping, and geotechnical definition.
• Validate and interpret geotechnical database through ongoing data collection and evaluation to maintain existing geotechnical models.
• Design, maintain, and upgrade site open pit geotechnical monitoring systems.
• Adhere to safety and environmental systems, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

• A tertiary degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of Surpac & Deswik.
• Experience in underground mining and/or open pit mining.
• Current WA ‘C' class driver's license.
• Current police clearance.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic with a focus on relationship service.

Nice to Have

• Experience with geotechnical modeling software.
• Previous experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
