Founding ML Engineer - Transforming MedTech Compliance

About the Role

We're seeking a Founding ML Engineer to join our innovative team at Klaris. As a key player in our startup, you will help build the Data and ML flywheel, revolutionizing compliance in the MedTech industry. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of medical technology while working remotely.

What You'll Do

• Develop custom, state-of-the-art algorithms to automate safety-critical regulatory tasks in Life Sciences.
• Create robust, scalable infrastructure and frameworks covering all aspects of DataOps and MLOps.
• Collaborate closely with an experienced research scientist to establish foundational components for scaling.
• Impact the technical roadmap and contribute to the team’s culture and hiring strategy.
• Prototype quickly to test hypotheses and convert the latest developments into scalable products.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in ML engineering with a focus on developing frameworks and algorithms.
• Strong competence in MLOps, including CI/CD and monitoring tools like MLflow or Weights & Biases.
• Experience building and managing data pipelines and document processing tasks.
• Proficiency in Natural Language Processing techniques and productionizing LLMs/SLMs.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP or AWS), containerization tools (Kubernetes, Docker), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).

Nice to Have

• Experience in the MedTech or regulated industry.
• Familiarity with backend development frameworks like FastAPI and SQLAlchemy.
• Knowledge of databases such as Postgres and Neo4j.
