About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Flock Specialist I to join our team at Versova. This is a remote position that involves supporting and maintaining all aspects of poultry care, ensuring the health and welfare of the flock. As a Flock Specialist I, you will play a crucial role in upholding industry standards and regulations while working in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support the maintenance of poultry barns, ensuring the health and welfare of the flock.
  • Perform various poultry-related tasks according to established routines and instructions.
  • Adhere to all State and Federal regulations, including FDA, USDA, SQF, and OSHA standards.
  • Check and maintain feeders, waterers, and other poultry care equipment.
  • Clean poultry houses, pens, and other facilities to ensure a safe environment for the flock.
  • Keep accurate records on poultry mortality, feeding, and other relevant information.
  • Assist with the removal of dead birds and maintain proper lighting and ventilation.
  • Work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of general work experience, preferably in a farm or poultry environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, and reaching.
  • Good communication skills in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Willingness to work in various climate conditions and adapt to changing environments.
