Financial Reporting Manager - Remote Position at Kraken
About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join our team at Kraken, a fully remote company committed to building the future of crypto. As a Financial Reporting Manager remote, you will play a crucial role in our financial close process and ensure compliance with GAAP/SEC requirements. What You'll Do
- Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports.
- Support the compliance of SEC filings including Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and Form 8-K.
- Prepare and review supporting work papers for disclosures, including footnotes and MD&A preparation.
- Collaborate with internal business teams such as legal, treasury, and accounting.
- Coordinate requests from the Company’s internal and external auditors.
- Review external reporting documents in XBRL format.
- Lead process and reporting improvements within Workiva.
- Prepare quarterly and annual regulatory and statutory compliance reporting as needed.
- Develop and maintain SOX compliance over financial reporting and disclosures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; CPA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial reporting, with public accounting experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and SEC reporting regulations.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience with general ledger software applications, such as OneStream or NetSuite.
- Familiarity with external financial reporting systems, such as Workiva Wdesk.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the cryptocurrency or blockchain industry.
- Knowledge of advanced financial modeling techniques.
- Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
