Financial Operations Manager - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Financial Operations Manager to join our dynamic team at Spotlight Sports Group. This remote Financial Operations Manager position offers a unique opportunity to lead the Accounts Receivable (AR) function and oversee our transactional finance team. You will be instrumental in ensuring robust credit risk management and maintaining a high-standard billing cycle.

What You'll Do

  • Take full ownership of the Accounts Receivable function, driving cash collection and managing the aged debt profile.
  • Act as the primary external point of contact for billing queries, collaborating with relevant internal teams to resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide line management to two Finance Assistants, driving strategic redistribution of workflows towards a hybrid operating model.
  • Perform first-level review of monthly payrolls, maintaining technical knowledge of UK payroll mechanics.
  • Oversee the Accounts Payable (AP) workflow, providing first-level approval for payment runs and ensuring ledger accuracy.
  • Coordinate cash book accuracy and proactively investigate unidentified receipts to ensure the ledger remains clean.
  • Review and approve the creation of new vendor/customer accounts, ensuring robust master data maintenance within the ERP.
  • Partner with the Head of Financial Control to evaluate operational finance workflows, identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Requirements

  • Proven background in AR/Credit Control and a broad understanding of the transactional lifecycle (AP/Payroll/Cash).
  • Technical understanding of UK payroll mechanics.
  • Keen eye for detail with the ability to spot anomalies in financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships with remote teams.
  • Confident using ERP systems, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

Nice to Have

  • AAT Level 4 (or equivalent) – qualified-by-experience is also welcomed.
  • Experience leading a team with skills to line manage remote colleagues.
  • Familiarity with US and Irish payroll mechanics is a bonus.
