Field Service Engineer - Remote Support Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team and provide exceptional remote support. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality service to our customers across the UK and internationally. As a Field Service Engineer, you will engage with internal teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure efficient service delivery and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. This position offers the flexibility of remote work while requiring occasional site visits.

What You'll Do

• Conduct engineering visits for preventive and corrective maintenance, ensuring customer systems and products are updated and operational.
• Provide remote support as a first and second line of defense for customer issues related to product operation and maintenance.
• Join an on-call rota to respond to urgent customer needs, potentially requiring site visits at short notice.
• Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022) and manage firewall platforms.
• Perform root cause analysis for customer repairs, documenting corrective actions and creating necessary reports.

Requirements

• Degree or HND/HNC in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in Electronic Warfare within the MoD, preferably with the 14 Signal Regiment.
• Demonstrable experience in delivering and supporting hardware and infrastructure in military settings.
• Knowledge of LAN, WAN, and VLAN architectures, as well as firewalls and hypervisor management.
• Understanding of ITIL practices and experience in a highly regulated environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Crypto devices and hardware lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with low volume, high value products and systems.
• Previous experience in technical demonstrations or installations.
