Experienced Design Engineer - Aerospace Structures

About the Role

We are seeking an Experienced Design Engineer to join our team at Re:Build Manufacturing. This Experienced Design Engineer remote position offers an exciting opportunity to work on aerospace structures and lead teams of younger engineers. You will be part of a dynamic environment where innovation meets operational excellence.

What You'll Do

• Design primary and secondary aerospace structures and systems.
• Create and deliver CAD models and presentations to customers.
• Communicate across engineering disciplines to make program-critical decisions.
• Identify core issues, develop solutions, and effectively communicate impacts across internal and external teams.
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with other engineers, both internally and externally.
• Develop supporting material for design such as bill of materials, assembly or installation procedures, and weight optimization trades.

Requirements

• 7+ years of proven experience in design engineering, particularly in aerospace.
• Engineering degree, preferably in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing composite and metallic parts and assemblies.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
• Proficient with multiple CAD programs such as Catia, Inventor, NX, SolidWorks, or Creo.
• Familiar with analysis packages such as FEMAP and NASTRAN (or equivalent).
• Solid understanding of aerospace materials, hardware, and fabrication techniques.
• Experience with design lifecycle and configuration management systems.

Nice to Have

• Systems design experience: flight controls, landing gear, hydraulic systems, etc.
• Hands-on experience with machining and composite layup.
• Test plan development and structural testing experience.
