Environmental Monitoring & Control Associate - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are looking for an Environmental Monitoring & Control Associate to join our team remotely. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to ensure the environmental quality of GMP and R&D cleanrooms (ISO Class 5, 7, and 8 areas) in support of internal procedures, external standards, and audit responses. You will play a key role in executing and continuously improving our Environmental Monitoring & Control programs to maintain a compliant, well-controlled cleanroom environment.

What You'll Do

  • Ensure that the Environmental Monitoring program is executed in compliance with the Quality System.
  • Perform periodic environmental monitoring trending reviews, document and coordinate any needed re-testing for out-of-specification results, and initiate responses as necessary.
  • Lead cleanroom event response including communicating, coordinating, and documenting events such as power outages, spill responses, pest control, and crisis support.
  • Coordinate external contractors to perform annual testing, certifications, and routine and event-based cleaning.
  • Train the trainer on EM&C programs (e.g., gowning).
  • Lead and execute continuous improvement projects, including defining project scopes and writing procedures.
  • Ensure data integrity (e.g., cleanroom cleaning and environmental monitoring).
  • Provide technical expertise and healthy challenge in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, environmental science, engineering, or related discipline OR a minimum of 6 years experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and drive projects to completion.
  • Ability to influence solutions across multiple teams and functions, prioritize and multitask.
  • Effective communication of technical matters clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written reports.
  • Ability to work within a Quality System.
  • Strong computer skills; experienced in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to trend and analyze data.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in GMP-regulated cleanroom environments.
  • Hands-on experience with viable and non-viable particulate environmental monitoring programs, including incubation/enumeration and microbial identification.
