Engineering Manager - Platform for Bitcoin Revolution

About the Role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our Platform team at Shakepay, a pivotal role in our mission to revolutionize financial services through Bitcoin. As an Engineering Manager in this remote position, you will guide a talented team of engineers focused on Infrastructure and DevOps, ensuring we deliver high-quality solutions that empower our engineering teams.

What You'll Do

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of platform engineers across Infrastructure, DevOps, and Developer Experience.
• Set the technical direction for platform architecture and ensure roadmap execution.
• Balance short-term delivery with long-term investments in tooling, infrastructure, and reliability.
• Oversee cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and operational tooling in a regulated environment.
• Improve developer productivity by reducing friction in onboarding, CI/CD, and local-to-prod workflows.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, observable, and resilient as Shakepay grows.
• Own incident management practices, postmortems, and sustainability of the on-call rotation.
• Collaborate closely with product engineering, security, and compliance stakeholders.
• Advocate for platform work by tying technical initiatives to business and customer impact.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering with 3+ years managing and growing high-performing teams.
• Strong technical background in platform, infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE.
• Familiarity with technologies like Kubernetes, AWS, Terraform, ArgoCD, Datadog, PostgreSQL, CI/CD tooling, and GitOps.
• Experience operating production systems and supporting on-call rotations.
• Ability to set technical direction across both developer experience and infrastructure.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a focus on business impact.

Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech or other regulated environments.
• Prior experience as a Staff or Senior Engineer before moving into management.
• Interest in Bitcoin and excitement to learn more.
