CloudZero is seeking an Engineering Co-Op (Spring) to join our Insights Team in a fully remote capacity. As an Engineering Co-Op, you will be part of Team Dev/Null, which is responsible for building and maintaining key components of the CloudZero product, including the innovative Optimize feature. - Participate in team rituals such as standups, refinement, planning, retrospectives, and demos.
- Contribute to internal improvements, including monitoring, testing, documentation, and automation.
- Transition into the team's day-to-day engineering work for the second half of your co-op.
Requirements
- A 2nd or 3rd year Computer Science undergraduate co-op student (Northeastern University, Spring 2026 cycle).
- Solid foundation in programming fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, etc.).
- Exposure to backend languages like Python or Go (schoolwork or personal projects are great!).
- Comfortable in a Linux-based development environment and using Git.
- Excited to work on real-world systems and contribute to team outcomes.
- Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn - you ask questions and take ownership.
Nice to Have
- Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Previous internship experience in software development.
What We Offer
- This is not a throwaway or shadowing role. Your work will ship to production, impact real customers, and matter to the team.
- You'll be supported by a dedicated manager, an assigned mentor, and a culture that values pairing, feedback, and experimentation.
- Gain insights into how modern cloud-native systems operate at scale.
- Learn how to write production-ready code and deploy it safely to real systems.
- Understand how cross-functional product teams collaborate to deliver customer-facing value.
- Experience working in a professional engineering environment, from code reviews to incident responses.
- Develop a strong understanding of how production systems are built and operated.
- Work on a project you can confidently discuss in future interviews with real technical depth.
This Engineering Co-Op position at CloudZero offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a remote setting while working on impactful projects. You'll receive mentorship and support, making it a valuable addition to your career.
