Endocrine Research Nurse - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Endocrine Research Nurse to join our team at Beaumont Hospital. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while supporting the Adrenal Tumour service, which is renowned for its complex cases and innovative treatments. As an Endocrine Research Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in patient care and clinical research, ensuring high standards of service and patient advocacy.

What You'll Do

• Perform monthly blood tests for plasma levels and routine biochemistry in patients undergoing mitotane therapy.
• Coordinate follow-up of mitotane levels and routine haematology and biochemistry blood tests in patients reviewed in the Adrenal Clinic.
• Conduct follow-up of endocrine hormone testing results in patients undergoing biochemical assessment of adrenal nodules and masses.
• Collaborate closely with the Adrenal MDT coordinator and ensure timely follow-up of imaging requests and results.
• Review blood results in patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) to guide adjustments in steroid therapy.
• Coordinate adrenal vein sampling procedures with the Departments of Radiology and Clinical Biochemistry for patients with primary aldosteronism.
• Consent patients for participation in clinical research studies approved by the Beaumont Hospital Research Ethics Committee.
• Participate in departmental research related to the specialty and promote awareness of research-based practice among staff.

Requirements

• Registered in the relevant division of the Register of Nurses & Midwives maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
• At least 3 years of post-registration full-time experience, with a minimum of 1 year in a specialty or related area.
• Demonstrated evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
• Strong clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the role.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to foster good working relationships within the clinical team.
