EC&I Technician - Remote Opportunity at Exolum

About the Role

We're hiring an EC&I Technician to join Exolum, a leading fuel storage company focused on a green energy future. This is a fantastic opportunity to work remotely while ensuring all maintenance tasks are effectively planned and executed in line with company policies, minimizing risks to people and the environment. As an EC&I Technician, you will support plant operations and maximize equipment availability through best practices.

What You'll Do

• Conduct fault finding, repair, and calibration of SCADA, DCS, PLC, and instrumentation systems.
• Inspect SIL/SIF systems and hazardous area equipment to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Plan and arrange plant shutdowns, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Liaise with company and external Technical Authorities regarding failure modes and corrective actions.
• Assist with continuous improvement activities and initiatives.
• Develop and review maintenance processes and documentation in line with relevant standards.
• Control third-party contract maintenance effectively.
• Provide technical and operational advice to stakeholders and assist with project completion.

Requirements

• Completed a relevant apprenticeship with associated qualifications, including COMPEX certification.
• Experience maintaining SCADA/DCS systems and relevant electrical qualifications.
• Understanding of isolation procedures and safe work practices on low-voltage systems.
• Proven track record in a similar role, ideally within a COMAH Upper Tier environment.
• A degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience in maintaining HV/LV systems and large rotating equipment.
• Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving PLC/DCS issues.

• Experience in project management and delivery of small capital projects.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
