Director of Treasury Operations - EMEA (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Treasury Operations - EMEA to join our team at Kraken. As a fully remote position, this role offers the opportunity to lead our treasury operations across the EMEA region, ensuring that we maintain our commitment to financial excellence and operational efficiency. In this role, you will be instrumental in scaling Kraken's treasury capabilities, overseeing liquidity management, banking infrastructure, and regulatory compliance.

What You'll Do

• Lead and scale treasury operations across EMEA, focusing on liquidity management and operational performance.
• Operate autonomously while aligning with global treasury policies and serve as a strategic deputy to senior leadership.
• Manage relationships with regional banking partners and negotiate services and pricing structures.
• Ensure compliance with EMEA regulatory requirements and support audits and regulatory engagements.
• Oversee fiat and digital asset treasury operations, including reconciliations and operational risk controls.
• Drive modernization and scalability of treasury operations, preparing for public company standards.
• Collaborate with Data, Engineering, and Product teams to develop liquidity dashboards that inform executive decision-making.
• Build and mentor a high-performing treasury team, enhancing leadership depth and succession planning.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in treasury, finance, or related functions, with significant leadership responsibility.
• Strong experience managing treasury operations across EMEA, including multi-currency and multi-entity environments.
• Background in fintech, cryptocurrency, or financial services is strongly preferred.
• Solid understanding of EMEA regulatory frameworks impacting treasury and liquidity management.
• Experience with both fiat and digital assets, including wallets and blockchain transactions.
• Proven ability to implement treasury technologies and drive process automation.
• Strong analytical capabilities, including cash forecasting and financial modeling.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience in M&A and entity expansion within EMEA.
• Knowledge of capital markets and liquidity risk management.
• Familiarity with BI tools for dashboarding and analytics.
