Director of Product Design – Growth (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Product Design – Growth to join our team at Kraken, a leading company in the crypto space. As a fully remote position, this role allows you to work from anywhere while contributing to the future of crypto. You will be responsible for overseeing the design output for a major Growth Product Design Engineering group, ensuring high-quality design that enhances user experiences and drives engagement.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design for critical growth experiences, including onboarding, identity verification, and user engagement.
• Manage a team of designers and design managers, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
• Ensure design decisions are informed by user insights, usability testing, and data-driven metrics.
• Run design critiques to improve UX clarity and interaction design.
• Partner with product managers to define problem statements and success metrics for growth initiatives.
• Champion accessibility and inclusion in all user experiences.
• Standardize design patterns to enhance efficiency and maintain quality across the team.
• Utilize quantitative and qualitative data to guide design decisions and improve user journeys.

Requirements

• 8-10+ years of product design experience with complex digital products.
• 4+ years of experience leading product designers and managing design teams.
• Hands-on experience with onboarding, activation, rewards, referral, or retention flows.
• Strong understanding of UX, interaction design, and visual hierarchy.
• Proven ability to build effective design processes and quality standards.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in fintech or regulated products is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AI-assisted design tools.
• Familiarity with crypto and blockchain technology.
• Knowledge of user testing methodologies.
