Director of Market Development - Remote in Brazil

About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Market Development to join our team at Stellar Development Foundation (SDF) in a remote capacity within Brazil. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge blockchain technology and create equitable access to the global financial system. Since 2014, SDF has fueled the tremendous growth of the Stellar blockchain network, an open-source platform that operates at high scale today. As a Director of Market Development, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of the Stellar ecosystem in Brazil, one of our highest-priority markets.

What You'll Do

• Lead business development efforts across Brazil for asset tokenization, DeFi, payments, and ecosystem growth.
• Build and manage partnerships with banks, fintechs, asset managers, and crypto companies.
• Partner closely with global vertical leads to execute local strategies and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Support regulatory engagement with BACEN, CVM, and industry associations.
• Represent SDF at industry events, workshops, developer activities, and conferences.
• Provide clear, proactive, and frequent updates on market progress, pipeline, and results.
• Collaborate effectively with remote teams across product, engineering, ecosystem, operations, marketing, and legal.
• Help coordinate all SDF activities in Brazil to ensure alignment with regional and global OKRs.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or market expansion within blockchain, fintech, or financial services in Brazil.
• Strong understanding of the Brazilian cryptocurrency and financial ecosystem.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional, global, remote-first environment.
• Exceptional communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts clearly and with candor.
• Demonstrated ownership mindset, strong judgment, and ability to operate independently.
• Ability to travel within Brazil and occasionally internationally.

Nice to Have

• 2 years of hands-on blockchain experience, preferably in asset tokenization or crypto exchanges.
