Director of Design - Remote Position

About the Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Design - Remote to lead our design team at Mapbox. In this role, you will drive the vision and execution of our design strategy, ensuring that our products are user-centered and visually compelling. As a Director of Design - Remote, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions that enhance user experience and engagement.

What You'll Do

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration.
• Develop and implement design strategies that align with business goals and user needs.
• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to create seamless user experiences across our platforms.
• Utilize data visualization and mapping technology to enhance product functionality.
• Oversee the development of design systems and ensure consistency across all products.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Director of Design or similar leadership role in a design environment.
• Strong portfolio showcasing design projects and leadership capabilities.
• Expertise in user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Experience with tools such as Adobe Suite, Figma, and Keynote.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience in B2B SaaS products.
• Familiarity with APIs and SDK development.
• Knowledge of Rust and TypeScript.
