About the Role

We are seeking a Director of Content Engineering - Remote to lead our multidisciplinary team at College Board. As the Director of Content Engineering, you will enhance our content systems and workflows, focusing on DITA-based structured authoring.

What You'll Do

• Lead a team of content engineers in structured content modeling and development.
• Utilize your hands-on expertise in DITA and Drupal-based systems to drive modernization efforts.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure content aligns with product needs and educational goals.
• Focus on team growth, performance, and fostering an inclusive culture.
• Engage with content creators and support diverse authoring environments to enhance productivity.
• Evaluate and improve content structures for better reuse and efficiency.
• Participate in strategic planning and execution of content initiatives that support our mission.

Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in content engineering with a strong focus on DITA.
• Deep knowledge of structured content authoring and experience with Drupal and content delivery APIs.
• Exceptional communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to mentor and develop team members' skills effectively.
• Experience with metadata standards and content governance practices.
• Strategic mindset with a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes.
• Must reside and be authorized to work in the USA.

Nice to Have

• Experience in educational technology or related fields.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of user experience (UX) principles in content delivery.
