About the Role

We are seeking a Deputy Manager - Production to join our team in the automotive manufacturing sector. This role offers a unique opportunity to lead production initiatives and drive quality improvements in a remote setting. As a Deputy Manager, you will be responsible for resolving process and quality issues related to gear manufacturing.

What You'll Do

  • Resolve process and quality issues in gear manufacturing, ensuring adherence to the highest standards.
  • Stay updated on the latest technology changes and cutting tool materials to enhance production efficiency.
  • Conduct training sessions on tools and tooling based on the latest trends in the industry.
  • Identify and implement tool life improvement projects, exploring alternative technologies for better performance.
  • Set up new model machining and line setups, ensuring a smooth ramp-up process.
  • Drive capacity improvements through debottlenecking and process enhancements.
  • Implement a zero rejection concept to minimize defects and improve overall quality.
  • Generate and implement cost reduction initiatives to enhance revenue.
  • Foster a safe working culture and develop an improvement-oriented culture within the team.
  • Review and adhere to quality systems, ensuring compliance with standards such as QS 9000 and PFMEA.
  • Drive productivity through regular reviews of key performance indicators like OLE and OEE.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Automobile, Production, or Technology).
  • 2-7 years of experience in production management within the automotive industry.
  • Strong analytical thinking and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication and conflict management abilities.
  • Experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Proficient in team management and quality control systems.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of the MOST technique.
  • Experience in driving productivity improvement projects.
  • Familiarity with industry best practices for manufacturing excellence.
