Content and Communications Intern - Remote
About the Role
Join Kiva.org as a Content and Communications Intern - Remote and immerse yourself in the world of content creation and social impact. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Kiva's mission while gaining valuable experience in content creation and communications. You will work part-time (24 - 32 hours/week) for 6 months in a fully remote position based in the United States.
What You'll Do
- Collaborate with the Content, Creative, and Communications teams to develop engaging content.
- Participate in content creation, publication, and storytelling efforts that align with Kiva’s mission.
- Conduct website audits and identify user experience (U/X) needs to enhance the online presence.
- Design social media templates and Meta ads to promote Kiva’s initiatives.
- Color correct and re-crop photos to ensure high-quality visual content.
- Engage in professional development workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Gain exposure to microfinance concepts and networking opportunities with Kiva employees.
- Commit to the full 6-month internship, contributing to impactful projects.
Requirements
- At least 21 years old by January 13, 2026.
- Bachelor’s degree or senior-level enrollment in a relevant program.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Experience in design work is preferred, with familiarity in tools like Figma, Canva, or Adobe.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently in a remote environment.
- Strong time management and organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Creative thinker with attention to detail and a passion for Kiva’s mission and social impact.
Nice to Have
- Previous internship experience in content creation or communications.
- Knowledge of social media marketing strategies.
- Familiarity with basic photography and editing techniques.
