Consultant (Research and Technical Support) - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a Consultant (Research and Technical Support) - Remote to join our team at the International Organization for Migration (IOM). This role is pivotal in enhancing the coordination processes between Germany and Türkiye, particularly in the context of migration management. As a consultant, you will play a crucial role in mapping legal frameworks and developing practical guidance materials to support NGOs and partners involved in return and follow-up processes.

What You'll Do

• Develop an inception note and workplan detailing the scope of activities and timelines agreed with IOM Türkiye and IOM Germany.
• Map coordination procedures and legal frameworks relevant to return and follow-up processes involving Turkish and German authorities.
• Create practical guidance materials to assist NGOs and practitioners in navigating legal-administrative requirements.
• Engage in ongoing coordination meetings to contribute legal-administrative insights that strengthen case management practices.
• Deliver a final report summarizing activities and recommendations to enhance cross-border coordination between IOM Germany and IOM Türkiye.

Requirements

• University degree in Law, Public Administration, International Relations, or a related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of European and Turkish legal frameworks.
• Familiarity with Turkish government institutions and e-government systems for document processing.
• Strong coordination, communication, and analytical skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Turkish and/or German is a strong asset.

Nice to Have

• Experience in international migration management.
• Previous consultancy experience with NGOs or governmental organizations.
• Understanding of child protection frameworks.
