Communications Wizard for Devcon 8 - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Communications Wizard to join our team remotely for Devcon 8. This role is pivotal in shaping the narrative and communication strategy for one of the most significant events in the Ethereum community. As a Communications Wizard, you will ensure that the messaging around Ethereum's evolution is clear and accessible to a global audience.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy for Devcon 8, focusing on narrative clarity and engagement.
• Design and implement narrative-driven campaigns across social media platforms, including X and Instagram, tailored specifically for the Indian audience.
• Coordinate with various teams to maintain a consistent publishing cadence and ensure alignment on messaging.
• Oversee the paid marketing strategy, optimizing spend based on performance data to drive ticket sales and event awareness.
• Utilize video as a storytelling medium, collaborating with creative teams to produce engaging content that resonates with our audience.
• Manage press relations, including defining press strategies and coordinating media partnerships to enhance event visibility.
• Act as the central point of coordination for all communications related to Devcon, ensuring all workstreams are aligned and informed.
• Establish and maintain a reliable communications operating system, including editorial calendars and content review processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience in communications, marketing, or editorial roles with a strong focus on strategy and execution.
• Exceptional narrative judgement with the ability to simplify complex topics into clear messaging.
• Demonstrated ownership of multi-channel campaigns, including social media, content, and press.
• Strong data literacy, with the ability to track performance and iterate based on insights.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for native English speakers.
• Experience with large-scale events is a plus, along with familiarity with the Ethereum and crypto ecosystems.
• Willingness to travel to India in Q4 2026 for on-site support during Devcon.

Nice to Have

• Experience with project management and communication tools such as Notion, Telegram, and Google Docs.
• Previous involvement in community-driven or open-source projects.
