About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead our Chamber of Commerce. This role is vital for driving economic development and supporting local industries in Roseburg, Oregon. As a Chief Executive Officer, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the community while working in a full-time, onsite capacity.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the chief executive and administrative officer, preparing notices, agendas, and minutes for board meetings.
  • Advise the board chair and executive committee on program planning and prepare special reports as needed.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of government affairs and political advocacy activities for the chamber.
  • Represent the chamber with media and local government, alongside the current board chair.
  • Oversee hiring, compensation, and management of all chamber employees.
  • Manage chamber assets and resources to achieve the goals set during planning sessions.
  • Ensure all chamber programs, activities, and events are well-planned and coordinated.
  • Drive membership recruitment and retention efforts, focusing on outreach to new and existing businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in chamber management.
  • 3+ years of experience in Chamber of Commerce or membership-based organizational management.
  • Preferred: U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organizational Management (IOM) or WACE Academy certification.
  • Strong understanding of public policy, economic development, and business advocacy.
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and InDesign.
  • Experience in budget development and financial management.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and self-manage effectively.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
