What You'll Do

  • Lead and supervise operational teams, including external contractors and Northern Star Mining Services.
  • Generate operating plans and budgets that align with the Company’s requirements and maximize the underground mine’s contribution to the operation.
  • Prepare forecasts and develop mining strategies with assistance from geology, planning, and production engineers.
  • Develop mine design and planning guidelines to optimize mining processes.
  • Finalize unit cost calculations for estimation purposes and educate all production and technical underground staff.
  • Explore alternate mining methods to reduce operating costs.
  • Develop collaborative, performance-driven relationships with key business partners and succession plan for the team.

Requirements

  • Competent user of Deswik packages (Sched, CAD, SO, MDM).
  • Practical experience in large-scale underground mining operations, including new project ramp-ups and multi-site operations.
  • Ability to influence and communicate risks, realistic plans, and deliver compelling presentations.
  • Deep working knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act & Regulation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering.
  • First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.
  • WA Underground Supervisors Certificate of Competency.
  • Current “C” Class Western Australian Drivers Licence.

  • Experience in remote mining operations.
  • Familiarity with innovative mining technologies.
