AI Automation Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking an AI Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team at Oyster. What You'll Do
- Drive efficiency with AI automations in n8n – Build, ship, document, and improve workflows that connect tools, data, and AI models to automate manual processes across departments.
- Ensure smooth operation of automations – Use error handling, retries, alerts, and logging to catch issues early and fix them quickly.
- Maintain AI reliability and safety – Help teams achieve consistent AI results while ensuring data security and compliance.
- Make automations usable and sustainable – Assist teams in adopting automations and ensuring they continue to function effectively as needs evolve.
- Own internal n8n excellence – Define best practices and continuously improve how n8n is utilized across teams.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience building automation workflows using n8n or similar tools.
- Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, authentication methods, and data flows between systems.
- Experience using Large Language Models (LLMs) in practical workflows.
- Ability to build and debug multi-step workflows with conditional logic.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working with both technical and non-technical partners.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with JavaScript or Python for simple code-based automation steps.
- Basic SQL knowledge for querying or inspecting data.
- Exposure to RAG concepts or working with structured and unstructured data sources.
- Experience integrating common SaaS tools (e.g., CRM, data, support, or collaboration tools).
- Experience with other automation tools apart from n8n (Zapier, Make, etc.).
