Administrative Assistant II - Solid Waste

About the Role

We are seeking an Administrative Assistant II - Solid Waste to join the City of Peoria's Public Works Department. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide essential administrative support while working remotely. As an Administrative Assistant II, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of the Solid Waste Division.

What You'll Do

• Provide administrative support to Solid Waste staff, including data entry and correspondence.
• Compile and prepare reports and research materials to assist in decision-making.
• Index records and maintain organized files, ensuring easy access to important documents.
• Perform general accounting functions, including processing payroll and purchasing entries.
• Deliver excellent customer service by managing a high volume of inbound customer calls.

Requirements

• Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably in a public service environment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential documents with discretion.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
