Windows Systems Administrator - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Windows Systems Administrator to join our Security & Classified Operations (SCO) team. This Windows Systems Administrator remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and operation of our classified local area network services. You will play a crucial role in supporting various IT technologies, including Windows operating systems, VMWare, and network storage.
What You'll Do
- Assist with software and hardware installations for networked and stand-alone systems.
- Provide network and system performance analysis, monitoring, and reporting.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network, hardware, and software problems.
- Act as an escalation resource for problem resolution, solving complex technical issues.
- Complete a wide range of systems and network service requests, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Implement multiple technology-related initiatives and solutions.
- Configure and maintain Active Directory settings, including Group Policy Objects, DNS, and DHCP.
- Collaborate with other Information Services groups and departments on infrastructure security and software systems.
- Adhere to ITIL best practices and organizational security practices.
- Prepare for audits from regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with technical configurations and controls.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in Linux and Windows environments.
- Solid mid-level skills in DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, DHCP, server virtualization, and Active Directory.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience supporting Windows Servers, SAN & NAS storage, and ESX.
- High School diploma or GED required; BA/BS degree preferred.
- Security+ certification and other relevant certifications are strongly preferred.

- Knowledge of security community resources and practices.
- Experience in cloud operations.

Who Will Succeed Here
Proficient in managing Windows Server environments and virtualization technologies like VMware, with hands-on experience in troubleshooting and optimizing system performance.
Strong understanding of network protocols including DNS, TCP/IP, and DHCP, with a proactive approach to monitoring and securing network operations in a remote setting.
