Technical Officer (Climate Change and Health) - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Technical Officer (Climate Change and Health) to join the World Health Organization (WHO) team in Kiribati. This remote position offers the opportunity to contribute significantly to public health initiatives aimed at addressing the health impacts of climate change. As a Technical Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting WHO's mission to enhance health outcomes in one of the world's most vulnerable nations.
What You'll Do
- Provide technical and scientific input to the Climate Change, Environment, and Health (CCE) work program.
- Coordinate the implementation of climate change and environmental health initiatives, ensuring compliance with project scope and timelines.
- Develop comprehensive project plans in collaboration with national counterparts and technical staff.
- Communicate proactively with stakeholders to identify problems and implement solutions.
- Prepare quarterly and annual reports for WHO representatives and stakeholders.
- Monitor project progress and deliver scheduled reports on milestones and deliverables.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- University degree in public health, environmental sciences, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in program or project management related to public or environmental health.
- Proven skills in project management and understanding of health implications of climate change.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
