About the Role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer, Backend (Consumer Growth) to join our team at Coinbase. What You'll Do

• Architect and develop distributed systems that support our consumer and business applications.
• Provide technical direction to teams and collaborate with management to define strategic roadmaps.
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables leveraging your technical expertise.
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards.
• Design and implement foundational infrastructure components used by every engineering team in production.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet the needs of our customers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on backend development.
• Proven experience in architecting and developing solutions to complex problems with significant impact.
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together.
• Experience with technologies such as Golang, Ruby, Docker, and PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with blockchain technologies (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum) and experience in building high-reliability systems.

• Experience in a rapidly growing company, transitioning from a small team to a larger organization.
• Experience in decomposing monolithic applications into microservices.
• Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with on-chain activities and blockchain-based services.
