About the Role

We are excited to announce an opening for a Sports Multimedia Journalist - Remote position at Cox Media Group. This role offers a unique opportunity to cover Boston’s legendary pro franchises, historic colleges, and the robust high school sports scene—all from the comfort of your home. As a Sports Multimedia Journalist, you will be at the forefront of sports journalism, especially with the 2026 World Cup approaching. You will produce daily content across various platforms, including broadcast, digital, and social media.

What You'll Do

• Generate daily story ideas and produce engaging content for multiple platforms.
• Demonstrate creativity in storytelling and enterprise reporting.
• Work independently and collaboratively with a team to meet tight deadlines.
• Engage with the audience through an active social media presence.
• Utilize HD video cameras and editing tools like AVID, Canva, or CapCut.
• Anchor live sportscasts and produce compelling features.
• Stay updated on local and regional sports teams and events.
• Pitch enterprise stories that resonate with our audience.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 3 years of reporting and anchoring experience in a medium to large market.
• Strong writing skills and knowledge of current events.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Experience with HD video cameras and editing software.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Willingness to work overtime or weekends as needed.
• Dynamic live television and storytelling skills are essential.

Nice to Have

• Experience with I-News is a plus.
• Familiarity with local sports programs and their schedules.
• Creative skills in shooting and editing content.
