About the Role

We are seeking a Software Engineering Lead remote to join our dynamic team at a leading European car insurance tech company. This role offers the chance to work from anywhere in the UK while leading a small, cross-functional team. You will be instrumental in shaping the technical roadmap and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

What You'll Do

• Lead a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on with software engineering tasks, focusing on architecture and design.
• Guide the definition of the technical roadmap, ensuring compliance with software engineering standards for maintainability, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Support your team in delivering projects on time by managing resources and removing blockers.
• Conduct code reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
• Foster effective communication and stakeholder management skills within the team.
• Drive continuous improvement through training and career development paths.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering skills with experience in technologies such as Python, TypeScript, Java, Elixir, Scala, or Ruby in a SaaS environment.
• Good knowledge of AWS and cloud services.
• Experience in managing technical projects and delivering results.
• Degree in a technical or scientific discipline, preferably Computer Science.
• Ability to influence others and explain complex technical information effectively.

• Experience in the insurance technology sector.
