Service Engineer - Beam Physics (Remote)
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Service Engineer - Beam Physics (Remote) to join our mission at IBA, where we play a key role in treating cancer patients. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintenance and troubleshooting activities on the Proton Therapy site, specifically focusing on the beam equipment in the Treatment Room. This role offers you the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a team of approximately 12 professionals, reporting directly to the Site Manager.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and troubleshoot the beam equipment and systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Operate the system and provide technical support to medical staff during patient treatment and clinical operations.
- Ensure client requirements are met in terms of technical performance, timing, and safety.
- Train customers on the use and maintenance of equipment.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment, including shift work.
- Upgrade and improve the system in collaboration with the R&D department.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in engineering; a background in physics is an asset.
- Relevant technical experience in electronics/electrical system troubleshooting, mechanical system design and repair, and operations of large systems.
- Experience with tools like cooling systems, vacuum systems, PLC regulation loops, drivers, sensors, and electric motors.
- Ability to troubleshoot large system issues effectively.
- Knowledge of local EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) regulations.
