Senior Web Services Developer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Web Services Developer to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and support web services using modern programming languages and frameworks. You will be responsible for creating and modifying web services, ensuring high-quality code, and participating in the full software development life cycle.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, maintain, and test RESTful or SOAP web services using Java or Python.
• Collaborate with backend database and UI development teams to implement multiple web service applications.
• Follow change management, source code management, and CI/CD practices to support DevOps initiatives.
• Ensure well-written, testable, and high-quality code is produced and peer review code written by other developers.
• Perform testing of code/projects to ensure accuracy, integrity, and completeness.
• Resolve issues affecting project scope, quality, effort, risk, and timeline.
• Serve as an API resource for guidance and direction to API support staff.
• Participate in Agile methodologies throughout the software development life cycle.

Requirements

• Experience in Java or Python, with familiarity in web frameworks such as Java Spring Boot.
• Proficient in Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with microservice architecture and event-driven architecture.
• Knowledge of API security protocols including OAuth2, TLS Mutual Authentication, and IP restriction.
• Familiarity with cloud services, particularly Azure, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using performance/load testing tools like Apache JMeter.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Nice to Have

• Experience with observability platforms like New Relic.
• Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka and stream processing frameworks like Apache Flink and Apache Spark.
• Knowledge of API management tools and practices.
