Senior Transmission & Distribution Secondary Systems Engineer - Remote Opportunity

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Transmission & Distribution Secondary Systems Engineer to join our team in Romania. This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere while contributing to critical projects in the energy sector. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of secondary systems within the transmission and distribution network, ensuring reliable and efficient operations.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement electrical engineering secondary circuits for high voltage substations.
• Provide mentorship to junior electrical engineers within our High Voltage team.
• Collaborate with Project Engineers and Project Managers to develop design schedules and budgets for electrical engineering activities.
• Support the implementation and commissioning of protective relay schemes, control systems, and communication networks.
• Prepare technical documentation, including design specifications, reports, and schematics.
• Generate reports on system performance, project progress, and testing outcomes.
• Review engineering work performed by peers and support projects during construction, start-up, and commissioning.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, company specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in Secondary Substation Systems.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering secondary substation systems.
• Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Nice to Have

• Good knowledge of Relay Settings for ABB, GE, Siemens, and SEL Relays.
• Protection Coordination experience and commissioning field experience.
• Familiarity with SCADA and communication protocols.
• Proficiency in using engineering software tools such as AutoCAD and ETAP.
