Senior Software Engineer - Ground Stations (Hybrid)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer - Ground Stations to join our team responsible for managing and interfacing with ground station providers. This Senior Software Engineer - Ground Stations remote role is crucial for interfacing with ground station service providers and local antenna installations, maintaining configuration for stations and their availability, and interfacing with pass and post-pass metrics. Understanding satellite communications, propagation of radio waves, and modulations will help you get started quickly.

What You'll Do

• Design, implement, and operate scalable services with database connections and RESTful APIs in production environments.
• Develop high-volume and low-latency systems to ensure efficient data processing.
• Collaborate with the Fleet Control & Communications team to enhance ground station capabilities.
• Utilize Python and Go within AWS cloud and on-premise Kubernetes infrastructure.
• Maintain and improve system performance through monitoring and optimization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a similar field.
• 3+ years of software engineering experience, particularly in Python and Go.
• Experience in modeling and implementing data structures and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to identify and resolve new challenges.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have

• Understanding of satellite communications, RF propagation, and modulations.
• Experience working with Ground Station vendors.
