Senior Software Developer - Kotlin Build Tools

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer (Kotlin Build Tools) remote to join our team at JetBrains. As a leader in developer tools since 2000, we are passionate about creating the most effective tools for developers. Our Kotlin programming language has gained immense popularity, especially after becoming Google's preferred language for Android development.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain tools for integrating Kotlin with various build systems.
• Enhance the seamless integration of Kotlin from build system representations into the IntelliJ IDEA project model.
• Work on improving import performance, reliability, and new feature development.
• Collaborate with a team of skilled developers to solve complex problems.
• Contribute to the Kotlin community by improving the developer experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of professional experience in Kotlin or Java development.
• Strong understanding of algorithms and software design principles.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively.
• Proficient in English for discussing tasks and writing documentation.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with JVM build tools like Gradle and Maven.
• Experience writing Gradle plugins.
• Knowledge of Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Experience creating plugins for IntelliJ IDEA.
• Participation in open-source projects.
