Senior Quantity Surveyor - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team remotely. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support project leaders in delivering high-quality service and achieving successful project outcomes. This role is pivotal in managing contract administration, risk management, and negotiations to ensure profitability and cash flow projections are met. You will play a key role in enhancing our culture of innovation and knowledge sharing across projects.
What You'll Do
- Communicate and liaise effectively with subcontractors to ensure project alignment.
- Advise on contractual issues and ensure compliance with current contracts.
- Report to the Commercial Manager on subcontract status and assist in pricing variations.
- Conduct cost control and support the Commercial and Contract Managers with monthly project cost reports.
- Manage subcontract lifecycles, including procurement, tendering, and contract administration.
- Prepare monthly financial statements detailing the status of variations in collaboration with project management.
- Assist with monthly work in progress reports alongside the project manager.
- Manage delegated resources to ensure value for money and compliance with Farrans policies.
Requirements
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
- Experience with NEC contracts (NEC3 or NEC4 option C).
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong written and oral communication skills to convey complex ideas.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Nice to Have
- Experience in the construction industry.
