Senior Offensive Security Engineer - Remote

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Offensive Security Engineer to join our dynamic team at BitMEX. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a high-stakes environment, where you will be instrumental in maintaining the security of our trading platform. As a Senior Offensive Security Engineer, you will be responsible for enhancing our security posture and ensuring the integrity of our systems.

What You'll Do

• Manage our bug bounty program, reviewing reports, engaging with researchers, and collaborating with software engineering to resolve vulnerabilities.
• Conduct internal penetration tests on our software and infrastructure stack to identify and mitigate risks.
• Participate in red and purple team exercises to evaluate our monitoring and response capabilities.
• Perform security research and threat intelligence analysis to stay ahead of potential threats.
• Conduct application security assessments and code reviews, providing internal training to engineers.
• Assist in incident response efforts, triaging and investigating security issues as they arise.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Information Security with a focus on offensive security.
• Proven expertise in offensive security demonstrated through certifications or recognized achievements.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive work ethic to contribute effectively to the team.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Istio, Envoy, and AWS is a plus.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or ArgoCD is advantageous.
• Knowledge of cryptocurrency and derivatives is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Development experience in Go is a bonus.
