In this role, you will have the opportunity to pitch and ideate story angles aligned with trending topics in entertainment. As a Senior News Writer, you will deliver timely, accurate news articles with compelling headlines that engage our audience. This is a paid freelance position that allows you to work from anywhere in the world.

What You'll Do

  • Pitch and develop story ideas that resonate with current trends in the Movies & TV industry.
  • Deliver at least 5 news articles per week, ensuring they are timely and accurate.
  • Self-edit and fact-check your work to maintain high editorial standards.
  • Stay updated on breaking news to provide timely coverage for our audience.
  • Utilize SEO best practices and analytics tools to optimize content for Google Discover.
  • Collaborate with a team of writers and editors to enhance the overall quality of our content.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in producing entertainment news.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a focus on clarity and engagement.
  • Educational background in journalism or a related field.
  • Deep knowledge of the Movies & TV industry, including current trends and key players.
  • Experience optimizing content for SEO and familiarity with analytics tools.
