Senior Mobile Robot Software Engineer - Remote Opportunity
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Mobile Robot Software Engineer to join our innovative team at Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Center Singapore. This role offers a unique opportunity to work remotely while ensuring the stable operation, continuous improvement, and performance optimization of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMR) and Fleet Management Systems. You will lead Proof of Concept (PoC) initiatives in collaboration with our headquarters to enhance system capability and scalability.
What You'll Do
- Ensure the stable and scalable operation of AMRs, mobile robots, and material handling systems aligned with the Software Defined Factory (SDF) strategy.
- Enhance system robustness and operational continuity through algorithm optimization and hardware performance improvements.
- Identify operational pain points and define improvement roadmaps to resolve performance and reliability issues.
- Lead the development and implementation of improvement initiatives across robotics and transport systems.
- Optimize multi-robot coordination, path planning, task allocation, and traffic control to maximize throughput and efficiency.
- Integrate robotics systems with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and factory digital platforms within the SDF architecture.
- Establish and monitor KPIs (e.g., uptime, throughput, cycle time) to drive data-driven performance improvements.
- Standardize best practices and system architecture to ensure scalability and maintainability.
- Lead HQ-driven PoC projects and validate new technologies for plant deployment.
- Enable factory-wide horizontal deployment and scalable expansion across production lines and plants.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in AMR/AGV, mobile robotics, or material handling system operations and optimization.
- Hands-on experience with AMR and fleet management systems, including multi-robot coordination, automation system integration, and scalable deployment.
- Strong expertise in algorithm optimization, including path planning, SLAM, and task allocation.
- Proven experience in system reliability enhancement and hardware performance improvement.
- Experience integrating robotics systems with MES, WMS, and factory digital platforms within SDF-based architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and monitor KPIs to drive data-driven performance improvement.
- Proven track record in identifying operational issues, leading system performance optimization initiatives, and resolving complex technical challenges.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and/or global teams in manufacturing environments.
