About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team remotely. In this role, you will work closely with our partner in the e-commerce sector, one of the largest growing trading platforms in Central and Eastern Europe. As a Machine Learning Engineer remote, you will be responsible for building real-time systems that monitor and analyze data related to offers, prices, and inventory from both internal and external sources.

What You'll Do

  • Support the preparation and training of AI/ML models, conducting A/B tests, and validating research hypotheses.
  • Develop backend services using Kotlin/Java and process large volumes of data with Scala and BigQuery.
  • Design, implement, and maintain data pipelines using Apache Airflow / Cloud Composer on GCP.
  • Visualize analysis results and present them to business stakeholders (Data Storytelling).
  • Ensure data reliability and quality in processing pipelines (Data Veracity).
  • Participate in technical readiness service (on-call / incident response).
  • Manage cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-6 years of experience in Software Engineering.
  • Experience with MongoDB (document modeling) and proficient SQL in the context of BigQuery.
  • Experience working with Big Data systems and understanding performance challenges.
  • Experience in Feature Engineering and understanding the full lifecycle of AI models.
  • Knowledge of Python/Scala in the context of data processing (Apache Spark).
  • Practical knowledge of Vertex AI (experiments, endpoints, Feature Store).
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow / Google Cloud Composer.
  • Familiarity with GCP services and managing infrastructure through Terraform (IaC).
  • Advanced understanding of statistical methods.
  • Proficient in Kotlin or Java (backend).
  • Fluent in English.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Looker Studio - building dashboards and BI visualizations.
  • Creating frontend components in ReactJS.
