Senior Gameplay Combat Designer - Remote

About the Role

We are seeking a talented Senior Gameplay Combat Designer to join our team at NetEase Games. This remote position offers an exciting opportunity to shape the core gameplay experience of our upcoming competitive football mobile game.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and iteration of core match gameplay systems, including passing mechanics, shooting systems, dribbling, and skill moves.
• Design and tune player behavior and AI systems to enhance offensive and defensive decision-making.
• Ensure match balance and pacing for an optimal gameplay experience.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including gameplay engineers, animators, and data analysts to improve overall match realism.
• Conduct competitive research on real-world football tactics and high-level player behaviors to inform game design.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in game design with a focus on core gameplay systems.
• Experience in competitive or action games, preferably in sports titles.
• Strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of football tactics.
• Proven ability to solve complex gameplay problems and enhance competitive gameplay feel.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with EA FC Mobile or eFootball Mobile.
• Experience in AI behavior systems design and gameplay balancing.
• A high-level understanding of football games and player dynamics.
