Senior Data Scientist - Remote Position at TRM Labs

About the Role

Join us as a Senior Data Scientist (remote) at TRM Labs, where you will play a crucial role in building a safer world through blockchain analytics and AI solutions. In this position, you will have end-to-end ownership of critical analytics products that help law enforcement, financial institutions, and cryptocurrency businesses detect and disrupt fraud and financial crime.

What You'll Do

• Lead the implementation of advanced analytics products that uncover hidden insights from complex blockchain data.
• Collaborate with engineers, data scientists, and research scientists to design algorithms for analyzing cryptocurrencies and blockchains.
• Develop complex statistical analyses and interactive visualizations for high-profile clients, including former FBI and Secret Service agents.
• Communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish best practices and statistical rigor around data-driven decision-making.
• Work closely with the go-to-market team to understand customer challenges and translate them into impactful models.
• Mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Manage multiple projects in parallel with different priorities and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in an analytical role, preferably in financial services or blockchain.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g., SQL) and at least one programming language (Python preferred).
• Experience building scalable data and analytics products from design to deployment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage ambiguity.
• Strong business acumen and customer-facing experience.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or Engineering preferred.

Nice to Have

• Experience with distributed ledger technologies and cryptographic protocols.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role.
