Senior Counsel - Trading Solutions (Remote)

About the Role

At Anchorage Digital, we are building the world’s most advanced digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto. As a Senior Counsel for Trading Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape of our trading operations. This position offers a unique opportunity to provide strategic legal advice on new products and features for the institutional market while working in a fully remote environment.

What You'll Do

• Provide comprehensive legal support for Anchorage Digital's OTC principal trading entity, focusing on spot, margin, derivatives, and API trading activities.
• Draft and review compliance manuals, policies, procedures, disclosures, and risk factors related to trading and lending activities.
• Negotiate a wide range of agreements, including ISDA, Master Lending Agreements, and Prime Brokerage Agreements.
• Collaborate closely with the Associate General Counsel and business heads to grow the trading solutions business.
• Develop and manage contract templates, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Advise on money transmission rules, state lending rules, CFTC derivatives rules, and SEC securities laws.
• Participate in client-facing meetings and work with cross-functional teams on multiple projects.
• Drive independent work while leading medium-to-large projects and processes.

Requirements

• Active membership in the state bar and significant experience in financial transaction agreements, particularly in the digital asset space.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks applicable to digital assets, including trading and lending agreements.
• Proven ability to draft, negotiate, and manage complex agreements in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
• Experience working in a startup or early-stage company, demonstrating a proactive and positive attitude.
• Ability to think creatively and propose commercial solutions to complex legal issues.
• Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to produce quality work under pressure.

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with crypto trading venues, prime brokers, custodians, and payment rails.
• Experience in developing training materials and compliance playbooks.
