About the Role

DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking experienced Retail Domain Experts to join our innovative team as a Retail Domain Expert (Subject Matter Expert) - Remote. In this role, you will leverage your deep understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and omnichannel strategy to design workflows, create evaluation frameworks, and ensure that AI-driven tools produce accurate, actionable, and business-relevant outputs across the retail ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge Generative AI and data analytics initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Define key retail processes such as category management, pricing optimization, inventory forecasting, and customer experience design.
  • Develop test cases and performance criteria to assess AI's ability to optimize retail decisions.
  • Evaluate model performance in product assortment planning, customer segmentation, and supply chain optimization.
  • Identify and curate high-quality retail data to train AI models.
  • Review model-generated insights and provide expert feedback to improve accuracy.
  • Help create tools that improve efficiency, profitability, and customer experience across retail touchpoints.
  • Ensure AI models reflect the real-world complexity of modern retail.
  • Bridge the gap between AI capabilities and retail expertise.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in merchandising, retail operations, or related fields.
  • Hands-on experience in AI algorithm refinement or evaluation.
  • Strong analytical mindset comfortable with both quantitative and qualitative retail concepts.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex retail operations into structured processes.
  • Strong communication skills to explain retail concepts clearly.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
