About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Senior Backend Engineer to join our Submission Processing Team at Kalepa. As a Remote Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in transforming the commercial insurance industry through our innovative AI Underwriting Platform. This position is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere while contributing to a game-changing product that helps insurers make faster, more confident decisions.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement robust backend systems that support our AI-driven underwriting platform.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine system architecture and APIs.
• Optimize application performance and ensure high availability of services.
• Develop and maintain scalable microservices that handle submission data efficiently.
• Participate in code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a backend engineer, with a strong focus on building scalable applications.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go.
• Experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining high productivity.
