Remote Data Analyst - Risk and Operational Performance

About the Role

We are seeking a Remote Data Analyst to join our team at Kraken, where you will play a crucial role in enhancing decision-making through data-driven insights. As a Remote Data Analyst, you will work with a world-class team dedicated to unlocking the potential of crypto and blockchain technology.

What You'll Do

• Act as a trusted business advisor to the Core Services team, proactively identifying trends and driving efficiency improvements.
• Own the design of dashboards, metrics, and reports, turning data into actionable insights for various teams including fraud, funding, risk, and support.
• Dive into large, complex datasets/logs to turn your findings into scalable data models necessary for reporting, analytics, and ML models.
• Lead cross-functional projects with analysts, scientists, engineers, and product teams to build data pipelines using Airflow, Python, and DBT.
• Develop and automate reporting of key performance indicators across core services teams.
• Be at the forefront of data innovation by experimenting, testing hypotheses, and translating insights into action.
• Develop high-quality code for pipelines and dashboards, incorporating software engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data analysis and data management within the Fintech industry.
• Expert SQL skills and hands-on experience in Python.
• Experience using dbt (data build tool) to model and organize data for reporting and decision-making.
• Strong understanding of data workflow orchestration and experience setting up and managing data pipelines.
• Capable of creating intuitive dashboards and visualizations to communicate complex insights clearly.
• Strong communicator who can simplify complex data ideas for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A degree in a field emphasizing analytical rigor, such as analytics, software engineering, or economics.

Nice to Have

• Experience working with fraud, funding, finance, and customer support teams.
• Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation infrastructure.
