About the Role

Bowman & Company, LLP, is currently looking for a qualified Remote Bookkeeper - General Accountant to meet the needs of our expanding practice. This role focuses on managing client books, journal entries, payroll, and financial reconciliations. As a Remote Bookkeeper, you will prepare financial statements, process invoices, and perform various accounting duties that are crucial for our clients.

What You'll Do

• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual client activities such as posting and reconciling accounts.
• Maintain accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.
• Prepare trial balances and work papers while maintaining and balancing the General Ledger.
• Prepare financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements, advising management on necessary actions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• Proficient in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online.
• Strong knowledge of cash vs. accrual accounting and experience preparing tax returns.
• Ability to handle complex projects with attention to detail.
• Understanding of various business structures such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations.

Nice to Have

• Knowledgeable of Statements of Financial Accounting Standards (SFAS).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data entry.
