About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated Recovery Peer Advocate to join our team and provide essential support to individuals on their recovery journey. This Recovery Peer Advocate remote position allows you to leverage your lived experiences to empower others, making a significant impact in the lives of those facing behavioral health challenges.
What You'll Do
- Provide outreach, advocacy, and mentoring to individuals seeking or maintaining recovery.
- Utilize your personal recovery experience to promote client recovery and resilience.
- Link clients to necessary services and resources to support their recovery journey.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of recovery support strategies.
- Offer skill development opportunities and support to clients in various recovery stages.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Lived experience in mental health, substance abuse, and the criminal justice system.
- Willingness to disclose personal lived experiences.
- Completion of Recovery Coach Academy or certification as a recovery peer advocate or peer specialist.
- Current and valid NYS driver's license.
