Plant Manager - Recycling (On-Site)

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Plant Manager - Recycling to oversee our off-site Recycling Plant in Wilmington, Ohio. This role is crucial in ensuring the plant's operational efficiency and quality standards. As a Plant Manager, you will lead a team of over 75 professionals, driving initiatives that promote safety, quality, and productivity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. What You'll Do

• Ensure compliance with company standards for product quality, efficiency, logistics, inventory levels, safety, and environmental demands.
• Analyze plant capacity vs. actual production output by collecting and tracking data across production areas.
• Engage with team members to foster a collaborative environment, encouraging diverse ideas and problem-solving.
• Implement process improvements to reduce operating costs and enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop and utilize KPIs and visual management tools on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to maintain quality standards and customer satisfaction.
• Communicate proactively with supervisors regarding production, staffing, and employee relations issues.
• Conduct performance management and development activities to ensure a motivated and high-performing team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years in manufacturing leadership, preferably in the recycling industry.
• Experience with recycled plastics processing and familiarity with plastic extrusion.
• Knowledge of material sizing equipment such as grinders and shredders.
• Strong financial acumen, including budgeting and financial reporting.
• Proven project management skills and the ability to execute projects effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of engaging with all levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated leadership ability to achieve results through a cross-functional team.

Nice to Have

• Lean Manufacturing Training certification.
• OSHA 30 Hour certification.
• Experience with SAP or JD Edwards systems.
