National Consultant for Care Economy - Remote Position
About the Role
UN Women is seeking a National Consultant for Care Economy and Women’s Employment in Crisis Settings - Remote. This role is pivotal in enhancing women's economic empowerment in crisis settings, particularly in Gaza. As a National Consultant, you will conduct a focused assessment of the care economy, contributing to impactful projects that align with UN Women’s mission of promoting gender equality.
What You'll Do
- Conduct evidence-based assessments of the care economy in Gaza, focusing on women's economic empowerment.
- Support data collection and stakeholder engagement to gather insights on care roles.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of programming recommendations based on your findings.
- Collaborate with local and international consultants to enhance project outcomes.
- Document shifts in care roles due to conflict and crisis, providing valuable data for analysis.
- Analyze care needs and gaps in Gaza to inform policy recommendations.
- Support the operationalization of UN Women’s guidance on care in crisis settings.
- Facilitate access to local networks and stakeholders to strengthen project impact.
- Prepare reports and knowledge products based on your findings to share insights with stakeholders.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in economics, gender studies, or social sciences.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
- Experience in primary data collection in complex environments.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to synthesize data effectively.
- Fluency in English and Arabic is required.
- Familiarity with humanitarian programming and UN mechanisms is essential.
- Networking skills and knowledge of the Palestinian context are highly desirable.
- Experience with women-led organizations is a plus.
- Project management certification is advantageous.
Nice to Have
- Experience in international development projects.
- Knowledge of gender-sensitive programming.
- Strong writing skills for report preparation.
